Imagine an arrow-straight 3km thoroughfare starting a few streets from the Place des Vosges, in the fascinating 4th arrondissement, and leading to the majestic Place de la Concorde. Bordered by elegant arcades that maintain a single façade and house some of the world’s most prestigious brands, it runs alongside the Hôtel de Ville, the Saint-Jacques Tower, the Louvre and the Jardins des Tuileries. The Rue de Rivoli is an essential axis of the Right Bank. By making it bicycle traffic only, the City of Paris has simplified pedal-powered travel between the main tourist and shopping districts and made it safer.
