Museum lovers will not find a better situated place to stay than the Hotel du Continent for satisfying their cultural desires. The Louvre, as well as the Grand and Petit Palais, the Museum of Decorative Arts, and the nearby Orangery and Jeu de Paume museums await your visits!

Painters in the spotlight

The Grand Palais will immerse you in the work of the Czech artist Frantisek Kupka through some 300 paintings, drawings, engravings, books and various documents. An exhibition full of colour and movement that pays tribute to one of the ‘pioneers of abstract art’. The Petit Palais is offering The Dutch in Paris; 1789 to 1914, demonstrating the influence this group of artists had on their French colleagues. See why there is a resemblance between the works of Van Gogh, Jongkind, Breitner, Van Dongen and Mondrian, and those of Boudin, Cezanne, Monet, Signac, Braque and Picasso.

Photographs and decorative art

At the Jeu de Paume, the spotlight is on the photographic work of the German Raoul Hausmann and the American Susan Meiselas. The plastic arts, furniture, textiles and jewellery from the Middle Ages to the present day are presented at the Museum of Decorative Arts in a highly visual thematic itinerary. Finally, while strolling the paths of the Jardin des Tuileries, don’t miss the opportunity to see Monet's Water Lilies at the Orangery Museum. This stunning set of decorative panels will put you in a romantic and smiling mood for the whole day!
