The great show jumping event returns for its 11th edition from March 20th to 22nd. Sponsored by the luxury high fashion label Hermès, the Saut Hermès will once again take place under the impressive glass roof of the Grand Palais. Superb sporting action guaranteed!

Saut Hermès; a demanding competition

In March, equestrian sports fans will gather in the magnificent surroundings of the Grand Palais, close to the avenue des Champs-Élysées, for the Saut Hermès. One of the most demanding competitions on the circuit, this CSI 5-star international show jumping challenge presents the world’s elite riders and their mounts competing in an exceptional setting not far from the Hôtel du Continent. Rising star riders under 25 can distinguish themselves in their discipline in a class specially reserved for them. There will also be equestrian shows presented. Please note that the competition also takes place in the evening from 19:00 to 23:00 on Saturday the 21st.

The Grand Palais; Parisian history

From 1901, just 4 years after building work began and a year after it opened, the Grand Palais became a venue for regular equestrian competitions, so playing host to the Saut Hermès is well in keeping with this historic site. It was for these events that the building’s nave was specially fitted out with a sanded track unobstructed by supporting pillars. The competitions took place until 1953. In 2012, the Saut Hermès revived the Parisian sports tradition of horse shows at the Grand Palais!
