The Hôtel du Continent, with its privileged position in the heart of the 1st arrondissement of Paris, is the ideal starting point from which to explore the French capital and its shops. Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche is one of the city’s most renowned department stores. During the month of October, the store is going pink to support breast cancer research.

Engaged shopping at the world's first department store

Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche first opened its doors in 1852, making this department store designed by Gustave Eiffel and Louis-Charles Boileau the oldest in the world. In addition to being a renowned brand, Bon Marché Rive Gauche is also committed and aware. In partnership with the leading French-based organisation in the fight against breast cancer, Ruban Rose, founded by Marie-Claire magazine, and the Estée Lauder group, the store is organising Pink October. This involves a space dedicated to femininity, with activities and products specially presented for the occasion. Foremost amongst these is the t-shirt by designer Isabelle Marant, 100% of the proceeds from which will go to the Ruban Rose association.

A special and appealing programme

Women are firmly in the spotlight at Bon Marché Rive Gauche until October 31st. A fine selection of lingerie brands is available, with Chantelle, Ysé, Maison Lejaby, Skin, and Mina Storm. Of course, Estée Lauder brand products will also be heavily featured. Throughout Pink October, these same brands will hold beauty-themed workshops and other events such as Yoga classes.
