Since its opening in 2014, the Louis Vuitton Foundation has presented an acclaimed series of major exhibitions. From October 2nd, 2019 to February 24th, 2020, this superb art museum and cultural centre pays tribute to one of the greatest figures of 20th century French design, Charlotte Perriand. While enjoying your stay at the Hotel du Continent, why not discover the work of this remarkable creative talent?

The creativity of Charlotte Perriand at the Fondation Louis Vuitton

The Fondation Vuitton is housed in a dazzling building designed by the American architect Frank Gehry. Its transparent structure is suggestive of a ship with sails unfurled or a bird about to take flight. This is the perfect setting for an exhibition of Charlotte Perriand's most fascinating furniture and projects, such as her chairs made of metal tubes and designs for ski resorts. A favoured collaborator of Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand had a passion for modernity and simplicity and a belief that better design leads to a better society.

A day dedicated to art

Having admired the pioneering creativity of Charlotte Perriand, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the art museum’s’s terrace, where you can enjoy a sublime view of the western part of Paris, and the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower in particular. After exploring the Fondation Louis Vuitton, why not take a stroll in the Jardin d'Acclimatation or visit the lovely Marmottan Museum, just a twenty-minute walk away?
