Beautifully located between the chic Place Vendôme and the romantic Jardin des Tuileries, the Hotel du Continent offers the ideal starting point for all kinds of explorations throughout Paris. Today we focus on some gourmet destinations.

Discover delightful delicatessens

The neighbourhood is full of excellent restaurants, but today we wanted to let you know about some superb local delicatessens, where wholesome and delicious foodstuffs are served for you to take away or eat on the spot, as you prefer. This is certainly true of Mille Pâtes, which is located at 5, Rue des Petits Champs, just 15 minutes from the hotel. Each day this Italian delicatessen painstakingly prepares for its customers 6 to 8 kinds of fresh pasta to die for, at prices so reasonable that you’ll be unable to resist a dessert to follow. Check out the vegetable lasagne, fresh ravioli, cuttlefish ink pasta ... Not to mention the chartcuterie, antipasti, plus tiramisu and other kinds of panetonne ... It’s such a torture to try to resist, so why bother? We advise you to succumb without further delay!

The southeast at your fingertips

Then head to the Rue Montmartre. At number 26, you’ll find the Foie Gras Luxe, a gourmet épicerie that has fed the considerable appetites of Paris with their fine charcuterie and foie gras for generations. Ducks raised on good farm corn is the secret of the quality that is so evident here. Organic smoked salmon or Iberian ham and sautéed cheese complete the feast. A similar air of authenticity can be found at number 34, at the Comptoir de la Gastronomie where foie gras is also king, alongside sausages, terrines and candied figs. These can also be enjoyed in the shop's restaurant, where you might also wish to try the onion soup and duck confit parmentier.
